Big DJs played my track — but only after I made this shift

Hey Reader,

Last week, two big DJs played my tracks – one in Buenos Aires, another in Madrid.

Hearing my music on huge sound systems reminded me of something:

You don’t need a fancy studio or racks of expensive plugins to make this happen.

I master every track myself, right here in my small home setup.

And here’s the surprising part:
I haven’t bought a single new plugin since getting Ozone for mastering.

Here’s how I handle plugins:

  • I keep a running list of plugins that catch my attention – things like Little Alterboy, Decapitator, EchoBoy…
  • But instead of buying right away, I focus on skill-building first
  • When big sales like Black Friday roll around, I review my list and ask:
Will this plugin really make my tracks better, or can I already get 90% of that effect with Ableton stock tools?

Most of the time, the answer is: “I can already do it.”
Buying a new plugin would only make my sessions more overwhelming.

That’s why I work with what I have and push those tools to their limits.
It’s proof that you can land big DJ support without a massive budget or premium gear.

And that’s exactly why I’m building the Track Finishing Blueprint.

It's a step-by-step system designed for producers with a full-time job who want to release quality tracks without wasting money or time chasing gear.

Here’s what it will cover:

  1. Set Your Focus – define your yearly goal, plan your time, and (optionally) choose the right labels. This also works if you’re self-releasing.
  2. Prepare Your Session – reference tracks, sample selection, and session planning so you never start blind.
  3. Create & Arrange – build strong grooves, hooks, and efficient arrangements that labels (or fans) want to hear.
  4. Finish the Track – mixing checks and final tweaks to truly complete your song.
  5. Master & Submit – my home mastering workflow + how to submit to labels or self-release with confidence.

I’ll be honest with you:
I’m not sure if anyone will reply to this email.
Building this Blueprint feels like taking a risk.

But that’s why I’m sharing it now, to involve you early and make sure it truly solves your problems.

👉 Which of these 5 chapters feels most relevant to you – the one you struggle with or need the most help on?

Just hit reply and let me know – your input will help shape the final product.

Hey Reader, Most of us live the same reality: A 9–5 job, sports, friends, family, daily stuff — and if you’re lucky, an hour here and there for music. In my case, add content creation, writing this newsletter… and a girlfriend who doesn’t enjoy music production at all. (Which means I also need to keep her entertained instead of locking myself in the studio 😉). With so much going on, it’s no wonder producers end up with the same story: Projects pile up.Loops never grow into tracks. And most...

Hey Reader, Last week, I asked ChatGPT a question I’d seen from YouTuber Dan Martell: “Tell me something incredibly special or unique you’ve noticed about me, but you think I haven’t realized about myself yet. It doesn’t have to be something positive and you don’t have to be nice to me – just truthful.” This only works if the AI already knows you well – if you’ve been using it for a while and it’s seen how you think, work, and make decisions. I was feeling slightly stuck. My product work had...
